Because
Healthprom is a small international NGO, there are opportunities for
a limited number of office-based interns and volunteers to make a
significant impact on the health and social well being of vulnerable
groups in the former Soviet Union.
These
opportunities may include research, writing assignments, fundraising,
promotions, membership and administration. We welcome applications
from a broad cross section of the population, but candidates will
be fluent in English language and will usually hold a degree or
equivalent. Volunteers and interns will be reliable, committed and
will usually be available for a minimum of 3 months. (Some short
term assignments may be available).
In addition, HealthProm is establishing an all-new network of events
committees of volunteers who fundraise and profile-raise through
small-scale events in their local community. The London office will
support groups who can make a realistic commitment to HealthProm
by putting you in touch with other potential volunteers, providing
training, some materials and support. Perhaps you could help by
forming a group with your friends, colleagues, fellow students or
an existing community group?
For
further information about HealthProm internships, volunteer placements
and events groups, please contact us at the London office on 020
7284 1620 or send a CV and covering letter to
Star House, 104- 108 Grafton Road, London NW5 4BD
HealthProm
prides itself upon good practice in volunteer management and will
refund reasonable costs incurred during the course of volunteering.
It
is the voluntary input of professionals working in health and social
care in the areas of our programmes: safe childbirth, child mental
health, infection control and cancer and palliative care that makes
HealthProm's vital work possible. If you work in one of the areas
listed above, have a minimum of three years teaching experience
in your area of expertise and good communication skills, we would
like to hear from you.
Projects
usually involve up to three weeks input from each professional during
1 year- and may involve work in the project country. All reasonable
expenses will be covered. Please write to
Dr Stewart Britten,
Trustee, at the address above.
