HealthProm's Afghan Project Adviser, Dr Stewart Britten, has published a comment on maternal mortality in Afghanistan in the current issue of The Lancet. 

 

The piece, entitled Maternal mortality in Afghanistan: setting achievable targets, outlines the fluctuations in maternal mortality estimates in Afghanistan over recent years and questions whether the World Health Organisation's target of all births being attended by a skilled birth attendant is realistic in this setting.
