Analysis of Reported Maternal Mortality Trends in Afghanistan

Afghanistan has historically had one of the highest maternal mortality ratios in the world. A 2002 survey estimated it at 1,600 deaths per 100,000 live births. However, the 2010 Afghanistan Maternal Mortality Survey reported a marked decrease to an estimated 327 deaths per 100,000 live births.

Reducing Maternal and Newborn Deaths in Charkent, Afghanistan

A short film highlighting HealthProm's work to reduce maternal and infant deaths in mountainous Charkent District, Afghanistan. Since 2013, HealthProm has been working with SPANA and the inventor Peter Muckle to develop a low-cost, life-saving inflatable donkey saddle to help women in labour reach medical care.

The Road Home - The Realities and Effects of Institutional Childcare in Russia

The Road Home was jointly produced in 2005 by HealthProm, EveryChild and the St Petersburg Early Intervention Institute.  Sponsored by UNICEF, the film documents the effects of long term institutional care of young children in Russia.  It was awarded an Erasmus EuroMedia Award.   

The Voice of Parents: Families' Experience of Services for Children with Disabilities in Ukraine
