HealthProm, a registered charity in England and Wales, is looking for a fundraising trustee to work with the Board, staff and volunteers to raise new funds to support our immediate plans as well as to develop longer-term strategies for income generation. The post offers a great opportunity to work in the field of international development, children and women’s rights and family support in a region in which HealthProm has long experience and extensive connections.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Fulfil the statutory and regulatory requirements of a trustee (full job description available on request)
  • In addition to board membership, actively participate in HealthProm’s Fundraising Committee
  • Co-ordinate effective donor proposals on behalf of the charity
  • Provide fundraising-related input to deliver HealthProm’s current 5-year strategic plan
  • Provide advice and support to identify and secure immediate fundraising opportunities
  • Help to plan and develop key communications with individual donors, corporates, grant-making trusts and foundations
  • Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising and promotional events

Personal specification

  • An understanding of, empathy with, and commitment to HealthProm’s vision mission and values
  • Proven experience and expertise in fundraising in the charitable sector from trusts and foundations, corporate bodies, High Net Worth individuals or events
  • Knowledge of the regions in which HealthProm operates is desirable
  • Some awareness of the sectors in which HealthProm is involved (maternal and child health, social care, fostering, disability, palliative care, early intervention) is again desirable
  • Understanding, acceptance and commitment to the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
  • Experience of board or committee membership in a charitable, public sector or commercial organisation is desirable
  • Links to a network of current and relevant contacts.
