Early Childhood Development Featured at World Health Assembly

The "Nurturing Care Framework for Early Childhood Development" is launched at the 71st World Health Assembly.
7 June 2018

Last month's World Health Assembly took the opportunity to reaffirm the importance of Early Childhood Development at the global level. Early Childhood Development is at the core of HealthProm's vision to ensure that vulnerable children have the best start in life.

The World Health Organization, UNICEF, the World Bank, the Partnership for Maternal Newborn & Child Health and the Early Childhood Development Action Network jointly launched The Nurturing Care Framework for Early Childhood Development.

As stated in the official press release:

The Framework provides an evidence-based roadmap for action and outlines how policies and services can support parents, families, other caregivers and communities in providing nurturing care for young children. It calls for effective national programmes that are driven by strong and sustained political commitment and a determination to reduce inequity, poverty and social injustice, drawing on best practices from across high-, middle- and low-income countries.
