It was with sadness that we learnt of Ralph Land’s recent death.
Ralph was a great supporter, champion and friend of HealthProm, a charity set up to support vulnerable children and families in post- Soviet Europe and Asia.
From his work to develop new markets and support the move to market economies in the region, he recognised that the transition of former Soviet regimes to free markets had an impact on issues of health and social care.
As a trustee of HealthProm from 1995 to 2015, he contributed to fundraising, governance, financial oversight and recruitment of new staff. His input enabled HealthProm to enjoy the delivery of successful programmes across a range of Eastern Europe and Central Asian countries. As a patron he continued to be an active supporter and a generous donor.
His infectious enthusiasm, wise advice and friendly touch made him a pleasure to work with.
He will be sorely missed by all who came across him.
Simon Ray
Chair of HealthProm
